Hegel I

Lectures on the philosophy of world history é um fresco interessante do pensamento hegeliano que sem qualquer escândalo reforça aquilo que popper escreveu. Hegel sai do campo exclusivo da filosofia artilhado do “conhecimento” com um tempero nacionalista para analisar a historia. O conhecimento is the geist, the spirit, the god reason, o santuario divino do qual emana a historia das nações, dos estados. Numa escala progressiva que conduz a humanidade da sarjeta ao reino dos céus. O livro vai a meio mas é para isto que servem os blogs:

“The phenomenon of national degeneration in facts takes on various forms. It may break out from within as appetites are unleashed, with individuals pursuing their own satisfaction to the detriment of the substantial spirit, which consequently disintegrates. Individual interests seize control of the powers and resources which were formerly dedicated to the whole”

“Individuals often have their own peculiar opinions of themselves, of their lofty intentions, of the splendid deeds they hope to perform, and of their own supposed importance form which the world, as they think, must assuredly benefit. Be that as it may, such ideas merit no further attention here.”

“Furthermore, the individual may well be treated unjustly; but this is a matter of indifference to world history, which uses individuals only as instruments to further its own progress.”

Kant responde: "reconhecei sempre que os individuos sao fins e nao os utilizeis como simples meios para vossos fins."
